—About

About me

I am a HCPC-registered Principal Clinical Psychologist and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Practitioner (Level 3). I have dedicated my career to helping adults with their mental health and wellbeing - initially in NHS Adult Mental Health and Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Services, and more recently as an Associate Therapist with the Adult Specialist Trauma Service at Beacon House.

My independent psychology practice is founded on my deep belief in the transformative potential of an active and connected therapeutic relationship, combined with the healing offered by IFS therapy.

I believe the power of IFS comes from two central ideas: we are all born with an internal system of parts, and we all have a core Self. Combined, these ideas mean that we already have everything inside us we need to heal and grow.

Therapy works to restore internal balance and harmony through releasing the burdens held by parts, and fostering stronger connections between parts and with core Self.

I specialise in using IFS to support people on their parental journey - the path that begins when you first contemplate becoming a parent, and continues through conception, pregnancy, birth, and beyond. The transition to parenthood often reactivates early relational experiences and unresolved difficulties that can impact the parent–child relationship.

I am also trained and experienced in parent–infant psychotherapy, and I work to strengthen this vital relationship with compassion, care, and clarity.

If you're curious to learn more, you can read about my approach here, or follow my writing on IFS — at the intersection of professional learning and personal healing on Substack.

—How I Can Help

Meaningful change,
held gently.

Whether you are navigating everyday struggles or carrying the weight of deeper wounds, my practice offers a warm, compassionate space for adults seeking meaningful change.

Offering

IFS Therapy

A gentle, parts-based approach to the places in us that feel stuck, critical, or overwhelmed - returning you, slowly, to the steady core of your own Self.

  • Are you feeling lost or stuck in your life, unsure about your identity and purpose, and unable to take the next step?
  • Are you feeling constantly criticised, and like you have to live up to standards and expectations that do not align with your values?
  • Are you feeling overwhelmed by your emotions - particularly sadness, grief, or anger?
  • Are you using substances, food, or other behaviours to cope?
  • Are you seeking to heal internal wounds and conflicts, so as to achieve greater self-compassion and inner peace?
Offering

Perinatal IFS

  • Are you thinking about embarking on your parental journey but concerned about the
potential impact of your own trauma?
  • Are you walking the parental path and struggling with anxiety, depression, eating distress,
    or trauma?
  • Are you lacking confidence and belief in your parenting?
  • Are you struggling to manage your thoughts and feelings about parenting — particularly
    feelings of dissatisfaction or anger?
  • Are you struggling with the unexpected course of your parental journey and experiencing
    grief or frustration?
  • Are you struggling to bond with your baby or feel close to your child?

I offer a holding therapeutic space where the parts of you carrying these difficulties around parenting can be seen, heard, and healed.

I am especially skilled in helping those parents who are also generational healers — people who have experienced early adversity and are now seeking healing for themselves and their families, so that the patterns of the past need not be carried forward.

Offering

IFS for Healthcare Professionals

My own journey has involved two parallel paths: personal healing through IFS, particularly in relation to my parenting, while also growing and developing as a Clinical Psychologist and IFS Practitioner.

As a result, I am uniquely skilled in supporting healthcare professionals as they seek to heal and rebalance their internal systems.

It is a particular privilege to offer my core Self energy in support of Psychologists who are navigating their own parenting journeys, as this deeply resonates with my lived experience.

—Approach

A Holistic, Social-Justice-Informed Approach

For me, a holistic approach to therapy is essential. This means embracing the mind, body, and spirit, and recognising that mental health is both individual to the person and embedded within a wider social context.

I am a committed ally and activist in addressing systemic inequalities and challenging all forms of discrimination, including racism, sexism, classism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, and transphobia.

I am also climate-informed, and I work with individuals and communities to process the psychological impact of our changing climate, including eco-anxiety, climate grief, and the weight of environmental uncertainty.

I am trained in the Work that Reconnects, and co-facilitate Climate Cafes.

For me, IFS beautifully aligns with social-justice informed work as I believe that healing our individual internal systems contributes to the wider healing of our fragmented world.

Additional Psychological Services

Beyond individual therapy, I offer a range of services for professionals and organisations, including supervision, consultation, training, and research and writing.

Supervision & Consultation

I strongly believe in the value of a safe and containing supervisory space. One that enables practitioners to reflect on their work and, in doing so, provide more effective support and healing to their clients.

I am an experienced clinical supervisor who adopts a collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based approach to learning and development.

I offer trauma-informed and IFS-informed individual and group supervision.
I have undertaken formal training in clinical supervision at the Salomons Centre for Applied Psychology, and in IFS supervision and consultation via Life Architect.

I offer IFS-informed consultation to clinicians, communities, and organisations seeking a fresh perspective on their client work, to support a more holistic and client-centred approach.

This can also mean exploring the "parts that come to work" — the internal roles and responses we bring into professional settings — and how the interactions of individual internal systems shape the wider dynamics of an organisation.

To further support my consultation work, I have completed the Foundation Year in Group Analysis with the Institute of Group Analysis, London.

—Additional Services

Training

I enjoy creating and delivering tailored workshops, seminars, and training in my areas of specialist interest, including IFS, complex trauma and perinatal mental health. I have extensive experience delivering training for healthcare professionals from a range of backgrounds, as well as for members of the public.

Previous training topics have included: Becoming a Parent whilst Healing from Complex Trauma; Climate Crisis & Mental Health; Trauma-Informed Care and Perinatal Mental Health for Neonatal Professionals; and CBT College — a series of one-day psychoeducational workshops on third-wave CBT approaches.

Research

Prior to my clinical psychology training, I worked as a Senior Researcher at St George's Hospital Medical School and Rethink Severe Mental Illness. I have continued my passion for research and evidence throughout my clinical career, completing several service evaluations and publishing in both peer-reviewed journals and industry publications.

My primary area of research interest and expertise is mixed methods evaluation of psychological and mental health interventions with real-world clinical populations. I enjoy all stages of the research process, from planning through to data collection and publication.

I am passionate about using writing to communicate important ideas to a range of audiences, and I am available for freelance research and writing commissions.
